The Company OffsetX.com is a network of social action and entertainment websites that enables participants to “offset” the actions and support provided by enthusiasts of opposing interests and opinions through actions of their own. The OffsetXTM leverages the polar rivalries that currently exist – and are strengthening – in American society, and provides an engaging forum to express those opinions, take action to counteract offsetting views, create their own OffsetX communities and otherwise effect change. “Why stop at carbon offsets?… Offset anything!” This statement forms the premise that is driving the creation and launch of OffsetX. The central hub of OffsetX – OffsetX.com – is the one-stop-shop home for anyone looking to take action by offsetting virtually anything, anywhere, at any time. What is an “Offset”? An "Offset" is defined as an ongoing political or social issue, person, event, team or cause that represents one side of a polar opposite -- a political candidate or party, a controversial viewpoint or opinion, a fanatic sports rivalry. Examples of these are:Political: Republican/Democrat, liberal/conservative, Obama/McCain, etc., such as OffsetObama, OffsetMcCain, OffsetLiberals, etc. Supporters of one political candidate or camp can work to "Offset" the opposing candidate -- Obama supporters can join OffsetMcCain.com and take steps to thwart the efforts of OffsetObama.com, and vice versa. Sports: One of the most exciting OffsetX communities will be those based on the longstanding rivalries between major college football powers -- Ohio State fans will compete fervently to offset Michigan fans – and vice versa – while UCLA and Notre Dame will each have the opportunity to offset USC, and so on. Dedicated fans can even act to offset upcoming games on a weekly basis. Humanities: Examples in the humanities arenas will include OffsetX communities such as OffsetCancer, OffsetHunger, OffsetObesity, etc. These social causes represent an opportunity to take action against disease, social injustice, health-related issues and other social causes that will leave a positive “Offset footprint” across nearly every aspect of their lives. Other OffsetX communities will soon be launched in the Environmental, Business, Entertainment and Create Your Own Offset arenas as well, focusing on the most popular rivalries and causes in these social networking markets. The Benefits of Membership The rich features and user-generated content of OffsetX websites are available for any visitor to sample.
